Sample Paragraph: Her blue eyes twinkled a bit with amusement as she watched her sons through the window. All but Dale had her eyes, and it was he she watched presently. The window had been enchanted to show her any within her domain. the power to create this was just one of the benefits that came with being the Chosen of Shar, but they did have their limitations and cost as well. In the case of the window, she could hear only the person on whom she focused the scrying device.
She had already checked on Helm, he was quietly watching the merchant who had thought to finance a revolution and gain control of the city's finances and trade for himself. Helm was the son she relied on the most for swift and silent retribution to those who would thwart her will and subsequently that of the Goddess. The merchant would cease to be a problem soon.
Kain drove the guards he trained hard, himself still harder after they had all departed. He required perfection in everything, most of all in himself. His injured eye still bothered her. That was one of her limitations, she could not heal it or restore sight to it, at this time. Shar might still grant her that power, but not until she had increased the numbers of Shar's followers and the sphere of her influence throughout the planes of existence.
Chip thought none knew of the monkish mentor he was practicing with at the moment. The monk did not follow Shar and rather followed one of the minor gods of light, but she knew Chip needed stimulation to keep striving for Shar. This monk provided the training of the physical skills Chip sought to learn, and also strengthened her son's belief and love for Shar through his religious arguments against the Goddess.
Dale the sorcerer, was as usual avoiding working too hard to learn his craft, but worked twice as hard at getting a red-haired elven woman into his bed. Little did he know the skills he learned to cajole unsuspecting women were in fact part of his training for diplomacy. His ruthless punishment of those who attempted to deny him that which he wished to have be it a woman's family, a merchant's possession, or a mage's artifact. All learned to acquiesce or suffer.
These four sons under her tutelage and with Shar's blessings would expand her city into a kingdom and that kingdom into an Empire. An Empire that openly showed it's devotion to Shar and her chosen. It would take time, but then that was one thing she had plenty of, by the grace of Shar.
