Rising slowly from her obeisance to the priestesses, she kept her eyes fixed on the woman speaking to the boy priest. Had she not heard her? No, she glanced her way but had not even nodded in acknowledgment. Were women considered second class citizens by the temple? No, that could not be the Chosen was a woman, and it was Shar's favored appearance.

Standing in stunned silence, chaos swirled in her eyes as she realized the chit had snubbed her. Anger welled up like the wail of a lost mortal soul in her Lord's realm. She had to quell the urge to reach past Adelberto and rip the woman's throat. The desire was quickly sublimated to allow for cooler calculation. She was on assignment, she was a professional. The woman's response had closed the possibility of her being protected by Isonduil. It was no matter to her if the priestess fell in the battle between the forces she would unleash to gain her freedom from the summoner. Though she would not gather her soul to Graz'zt. She would not cross the Lady of Shadows in her own realm.

BADBADBADBADBADBADBADBAD! Karla jumped away from the entrance to the tent reflexively. Something was happening inside the tent! But she hadn't heard anything... Not that that would mean anything. What if the Bad Lady was doing something to the healers? What if they needed her help? She was supposed to be damage control, wasn't she? She couldn't let anyone hurt the healers! So she had to DO something!

Some way to get the healers out of danger- out of the tent. Karla steeled herself, took a deep breath, and threw open the tent flap.

"Please, come quick! Two- Two men! They've collapsed in the ditch and I don't think they're breathing! Please, you have to help them!"

"In about an hour's time or so. He needs to do an appearance then I think he is due at the unveiling. After that I should be free. Where are you" He started ti ask her for a place to meet when the small person burst into the tent prattling something about hurt men. With a glance at Maurynna, he bowed, then nodded to her friend and turned to go.

Izzie was standing quietly saying nothing and with an unreadable expression on her face. Now what was the demoness up to? "Let's go Izzie, they have work to do and so do we." He stepped toward the tent flaps to walk out into the too bright day.

Snapping her attention away from Adalberto Maurynna focuses on the young child "Where?" she asks calmly. It would do no good to show any panic. From the corner of her eye she could see Naomi gathering up anything they may need. "Lead the way please."

Stepping back into the shadows and toning back her aura she studied the priestess that her summoner wished humiliated, hurt, destroyed. He was not paying her to ply her profession and it would take more than the binding he had placed on her to force her to assassinate at his order. She was bound to her Lord first.

She turned to the young priest escorting her and smiled with just a hint of a simper. "Do we still have time to see a few sights. Berto? OR should we head back to the temple now?" She said is softly but clearly enough the priestess should have caught it. Let the woman wonder of her affiliation to the temple.
